There's a reason this article hasn't made it past peer review yet... "Multiple lines of evidence" and still none of them are remotely conclusive. Impressive!

The Singer Tract was logged to produce wooden tea boxes decimating what was one of the last #IBWO strongholds. I've never seen a wooden tea box until this Christmas. Seems like the link below is making bird Twitter news. Any opinions on the ivory-bills? ht

This is yet another reason why I dislike preprint processes. It’s not peer reviewed and the public and journalists largely won’t care. Effectively, this can be a way of “publishing” scientific editorials. It’s similar to publishing with MDPI and predatory

Skepticism warranted of course, but enough to keep going? Sure. Glad the authors plan to press on, including with new methods like eDNA.

Damn, the trail cam footage is so promising, but I’m afraid to hope too hard. If the Ivory Bill Woodpecker is still alive I want to see it, like every birder in the world.

I vaguely remember hearing a story about a faith healer with a pile of canes outside his establishment testifying to his successes. Someone observed that a single glass eye would be better evidence than the whole pile. Show me a single feather.

No peer review yet, but this preprint posits that Ivory-billed Woodpecker is extant in Louisiana. Skepticism is warranted (as is more evidence to rule out leucistic Pilieated Woodpecker). #birding #birdwatching #ivorybilled https://t.co/Y5rZB6f9ix

This is a pre-print. Which means that it has not been peer-reviewed. Which means that it's more thorough than a shitpost, but not necessarily more credible.
